Parks Victoria announces new café for Brimbank Park
After almost 12 months of vacancy, the café space at Brimbank Park in Keilor East will have some fresh and enthusiast new hospitality tenants.
Introducing Harry Gary and Fraser Clark of Lumbar & Co.
“We’re excited to announce that after a total re-fit, we’ll be re-opening the Brimbank Park Café, offering great coffee, quality food and service to all park visitors” says Harry.
Harry is a long-time local resident with a background in small business management and wholesale foods. Fraser has an extensive background in the hospitality industry, including the operation and management of various cafés and restaurants across Australia.
Locals and visitors are already delighted to have the temporary Lumbar & Co Pop- Up Coffee Cart offering great coffee and a small selection of snacks available from 7.00 am until late afternoon. The Coffee Cart is now open daily from 7.00 am until late afternoon and is situated beside the Park’s recently renewed Playscape and in front of the Visitor Centre Building.
Once re-fit and fully opened, the café will have a focus on environmental sustainability, aiming to reduce waste from food production and packaging, as well as providing healthy menu options from locally sourced produce.
Lumbar and Co have ensured they will be “working with the community and Parks Victoria, to become a place for locals, businesses, clubs and community groups to share and experience the tranquil energizing qualities of the park.”
“Our café will provide a great clubhouse atmosphere, and will welcome all to truly celebrate the natural environment, and promote active enjoyment of what is one of Melbourne’s great metropolitan parks.”
With a ten year tenancy plan, there are lots of exciting renovation ideas in the works.
