Championing the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival Westside
A regular fixture of the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival, Eat Drink Westside shines a light on the west’s culinary gems and our enviable food community.
Eat Drink Westside is your go-to guide for some of the west’s best epicurean offerings.
A unique collaboration between Melbourne’s western region councils and the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival and supported by Western Melbourne Tourism, the program will showcase enticing food events that are as diverse as the west itself.
The Eat Drink Westside 2020 program will see 17 unique and extraordinary food events taking place in Melbourne’s west as part of the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival from 19 – 29 March 2020.

Launching eat drink westside
Launched this week at Mr West in Footscray, the region’s stakeholders enjoyed a taster of the 2020 program. Food journalist and westie ambassador, Sofia Levin, hosted the proceedings with guest speakers Zenon Misko from Melbourne Food and Wine and Richard Ponsford from Western Melbourne Tourism.
It was a tequila-spiked start to the day with beetroot bloody marys, mando mimosas and local Hop Nation organic lager. Attendees enjoyed their canapes and drinks alongside an Ethiopian coffee ceremony.
There was an introduction and short Q&A with three of the hosting restaurants/bars: Josh from Mr West in Footscray, Daniel from Gojo Cafe in Sunshine, and Stefan from Small French Bar in Footscray.
And no westside event would be complete without Tony himself from T. Cavallaro & Sons Pasticceria providing us a hands on experience filling our own cannoli, and sharing in 130 years of the tradition.
Take a look at what’s on offer for Eat Drink Westside and BE OUR GUEST OUT WEST this March!
