Visitor Economy Statewide Masterplan Directions Paper Submission
In May 2022 the Victorian Government sought input in the process of developing a Statewide Visitor economy masterplan for Melbourne and Victoria. WMT provided a submission to this process responding to a Directions Paper (a high‑level summary of a proposed vision, mission, and strategic directions) released for stakeholder feedback.
Legislative Council Standing Committee on Economy and Infrastructure – Inquiry into the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the Tourism and Events sectors

The Victorian Government convened a Parliamentary Inquiry (Legislative Council – Economy and Infrastructure Committee) into the impacts of the Covid 19 pandemic on the tourism and events sector. WMT prepared a written submission to the Inquiry in April 2021 setting out the impacts of the pandemic on the region’s visitor economy and recommendations for recovery and support.

Reimaging the Visitor Economy – Submission to Austrade

As Australia emerged from the COVID-19 pandemic, THRIVE 2030: a National Strategy for Australia’s Visitor Economy was developed at a Federal level by Austrade. This is a long-term national plan to chart a course of recovery and return to sustainable growth. WMT provided a submission to this Strategy in June 2021.
